Lima
LIMA
Jorge Chávez International Airport, in the Constitutional Province of Callao, 30 minutes from Lima's Historic Center, is the main point of entry to Peru's capital.
International airlines such as Aces, Aeroflot, Aerolíneas Argentinas, AeroContinente, Aeromexico, Aeropostal, Air France, American Airlines, Avianca, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Copa, Cubana de Aviación, Delta Airlines, Ecuatoriana, Iberia, Lacsa, Lan Chile, Lan Perú, Lloyd Aero Boliviano, K.L.M., Mexicana, Servivensa, Saeta, Taca, Tame y Varig, have flights to and from Lima airport, linking the capital of Peru with leading cities worldwide.
Planes flying to Peru's main cities also depart from Jorge Chávez Airport.
Trujillo
TRUJILLO
Be it by air or by land, the journey to Trujillo is always pleasant and not the least bit tiring.
Daily buses from Lima take about 8 hours. Daily flights from Lima take about 60 minutes.
ANCASH

ANCASH
It takes 8 hours by bus to travel the 408 kms. to Huaraz (Ancash) from Lima.  The route goes through the North Panamerican Highway, turning off at Pativilca, km. 202 from Lima, to Huaraz. Bus fares range from about 5 to 18 dollars.
Arequipa
AREQUIPA
Located 1,020 kms. south of Lima, the capital of Peru, Arequipa can be reached by air in 70 minutes. Peruvian airlines operate daily flights.
The journey from Lima to Arequipa by road via the Southern Pan-American Highway takes about 14 hours. Bus transport companies provide non-stop journeys, with meals, air conditioning and comfortable seats.

Ayacucho
AYACUCHO
Ayacucho is about 8 hours from Lima by bus, down the South Pan American Highway through Pisco and then up the new Los Libertadores route through the mountains, which climbs up to 4000 meters above sea level. Watch out for saroche (altitude sickness).
Buses leave Lima daily for Ayacucho and the fare is about 20 US dollars. There are also regular flights from Lima to Ayacucho.
Cuzco

CUSCO

From Lima you can get to Cusco by air, in a 70 minutes approximately flight. Peruvian airlines operate daily flights.
Cusco can also be reached overland but the journey is exhausting and takes close to a day and a half.
The journey by road is not recommended, its better by far to get to Cusco by air.


Nazca NAZCA
Ica doesn't have an airport, and so the only way to get there and to Nazca and Paracas is by bus through the South Panamerican highway. The trip to Ica from Lima takes about 5 hours, and you can stop off to visit the Valley of Cañete (Lima) and the towns of Chincha and Pisco (Ica). The trip to Nazca from Lima takes about 7 hours and to Paracas about 4 hours.
Its easy to get to Ica, Nazca and Paracas as there are a wide variety of bus companies going there with frequent departures.
TiticacaLake
TITICACA LAKE
The best way to reach Puno is by air, the trip from Lima to the airport in Juliaca, the other main city of the department, takes about an hour. By land transportation, Puno can be reached by train from Arequipa, in a picturesque 388 kilometer journey, and from Cusco in a10 hours journey. Also by bus from Lima in a long 20 hours journey or from Cusco in an 8 hours trip.



                                                            
MACHU PICCHU
To get to Machu Picchu the visitor must travel by direct train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and from there, board any of the buses provided by the six different agencies which cover the route up to the citadel. Lenght of journey is 3.5 hours.
Peru Rail (ex-ENAFER, the National Railroad Company) offers a variety of services to Machu Picchu, from San Pedro Station, in Cusco, to Aguas Calientes.

AMAZON

The best way to reach Iquitos, the gateway to the Amazon, is by air. Traveling time from Lima is approximately 90 minutes and flights are provided daily by peruvian airlines.
